Servicing Newmarket since 1984, looking back…
It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Dr. Landecker in July 2023. He loved working in Newmarket and built strong bonds with many of his patients and their families. He was proud to be on staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre.
Dr. Landecker started our practice as a solo-practitioner in 1984 but soon realized that he could offer a higher level of care if he worked as part of a team. We strive to continue that tradition as our optometrists and ophthalmologists at Eyes + Ears continue to provide Newmarket and the surrounding areas with the highest quality eye care.
Moving forward….
Our friendly staff is dedicated to providing the same care you are used to in a warm and welcoming environment where we treat our patients with respect. We strive to remain at the forefront of eye care through continuing education and utilizing the latest state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
We have recently added audiology services to our practice and we look forward to offering these services to our patients.
1984
Dr. Landecker moved from Sault Ste Marie to start his ophthalmology practice at 615 Davis Drive. At this time Leslie Street was a dirt road and Southlake Regional Health Centre was called York County Hospital.
1992
Dr. Landecker moves the office to 531 Davis Drive. This would be our home for 31 years. We get our first computer and added optometrists to the practice. The times, they were a changin.
2008
The new millennium brings more changes. We are able to introduce new technology in to the office including an OCT machine and we invest in a second visual field machine in order to shorten the wait times for our patients.
Dr. Yu joins the practice as a student from the University of Waterloo’s optometry program. We like him so much that we ask him to stay on after he completes his studies.
2022
Dr. Landecker went on medical leave and Dr. Yu took over the running of the practice.
Dr. Amy Sze joined our practice to service our patients requiring ophthalmology care.
2023
2023 brought exciting highs and devastating lows. We were all heartbroken over the passing of Dr. Landecker. We were sad to say goodbye to our old office.
We’ve moved to our new location at 18075 Leslie Street, added a dispensary for you to purchase glasses, added audiology services such as hearing tests and hearing aids and changed our name to Eyes Plus Ears.
We look forward to continuing the tradition that Dr. Landecker started of delivering high quality, family friendly service to our patients and the community.
